Vienna with kids: zoo, maze and the Prater
A day with children in Vienna works best with a few places close together. So day one stays entirely in the grounds of Schönbrunn: the world's oldest zoo in the morning, the maze in the afternoon and cake up at the Gloriette to finish. On day two the Natural History Museum and the ZOOM Children's Museum sit right next to each other, and one U-Bahn ride takes you on to the Prater.

Wurstelprater
Carousels, bumper cars and ghost trains – free to enter, you pay per ride. Small children have their own, gentler rides.

Good to know
Buggies at Schönbrunn
The main paths in the palace park are wide and flat, and the climb to the Gloriette is manageable. Only some side paths are gravel.
Toilets and changing
The zoo, the museums and the MuseumsQuartier have toilets with baby changing. In the Prater they are spread across the grounds.
If it rains
Spend longer in the animal houses on day one, and swap the Prater for the Haus der Musik in the centre on day two.
