Berlin with kids: zoo, dinosaurs and playgrounds
Children in Berlin mostly want two things: animals and dinosaurs. So day one belongs to the zoo in the west, with lunch at a beer garden by a lake and the aquarium as your rainy-day plan. On day two the Brachiosaurus at the natural history museum comes first, then a single tram ride takes you to Prenzlauer Berg for the park, the animals and the playgrounds.

Day 2
Dinosaurs, Mauerpark and playgrounds

Natural History Museum
A giant Brachiosaurus skeleton fills the entrance hall. Add meteorites and mounted animals – the visit takes a good two hours.

Konnopke’s Imbiß

Mauerpark

Good to know
Buggies and paths
The zoo, the Tiergarten and Mauerpark are easy with a buggy. Some older U-Bahn stations have no lift – trams and buses are simpler.
Toilets and changing
The zoo, the aquarium and the natural history museum have toilets with baby changing. Toilets in Mauerpark are scarce, so go beforehand.
If it rains
Stay longer in the aquarium on day one and swap Mauerpark for the German Museum of Technology in Kreuzberg on day two.
