November is grey in much of Europe – and that is exactly when many places further south are pleasantly warm and far less crowded than in summer. We looked at the weather of the last ten Novembers (2015 to 2024) for 19 popular destinations: how warm does it get by day, how cool at night, and how much rain falls?

Above 25 °C: Red Sea, Gulf and Thailand

Dubai and Oman are in November what they are not in summer: warm instead of scorching, with around 30 °C by day and hardly any rain. For Dubai we have a ready-made plan with the old town, the souks and the desert.

Hurghada on the Red Sea is the shortest flight to reliable 26 °C – on average no rain falls in November at all. Bangkok is the warmest at over 31 °C, and its rainy season ends in November. Phuket, on the other hand, is still in the Andaman Sea's rainy season: 239 mm a month is more than three times as much as in Bangkok.

Outside your home region, mobile data abroad can get expensive. A travel eSIM is often much cheaper:

22 to 25 °C on a short flight: Canaries, Morocco, Cyprus

The Canary Islands are the November classic. The south of Gran Canaria is the warmest and driest (24.6 °C, 19 mm of rain). On Tenerife the north gets more rain; the south around Los Cristianos is drier than the capital Santa Cruz measured here.

Marrakech reaches 24 °C by day but only 10 °C at night – pack a jacket. Agadir on the coast stays much milder at night. In Cyprus, 22 °C often still means beach weather in November, while Antalya already averages more than 100 mm of rain.

Around 20 °C: a city break instead of the beach

20 °C is ideal for a city break: warm enough for terraces, cool enough for walking. Málaga and Seville both reach 20 °C by day; Seville cools down more at night. Malta stays mild at night with 17 °C. Lisbon and Mallorca feel autumnal at 18 to 19 °C, but flights are short and hotels cheaper than in summer.
